Spray Value

The water beading properties of a material are the focus here. It is quite likely that every bag in the VAUDE Packs ‘n Bags collection has to put up with an occasional rain shower or two. In order for our bags to prove their worth even under damp conditions, we test all materials in our laboratory for their spray value (water beading properties).

Fabrics with a good spray value allow moisture to simply bead up and roll off the outside, thus protecting the contents of the bag. To find out just how suitable a material is, we put it to the test in our laboratory, exposing it to a series of artificial rain showers. This allows us to gauge if the fabric meets our exacting standards for a permanently high spray value.

And if by chance it should rain the proverbial cats and dogs, many models provide an integrated rain cover to keep you on the safe side.
